The idea to use this officer's hat is just plain sick
The artistic aspect is just plain beautiful, regardless of the fact that one certain man from Austria misused that particular symbol. (Which originally was a peaceful one)..
Why are people so angry? this talk of "erasing this symbol from history" is bullshit. Censoring history is crazy. If we cannot learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it.
Its not just an icon, its a reminder of a bloody period that killed millions of human beings, not just Jews but pols, Christians, the elderly, the young, the infirm etc, etc... a smiley face is just an icon, the uniform of an SS officer is a reminder, a statement, and just in bad taste. In essence it reflects either an ignorance on your part for the role this played in the history of the world in which you live, or (and this is much worse) your support for that evil in a subtle and provocative manner. If you want to be provocative, take an xerox of your ass and put the negative space in the icon instead. You are not being provocative you are being either dumb or evil. Someone with your talent should be open and sensitive enough (as is required to be a great artist) to see the indecency in your choice of icon. If Hitler had been a better artist perhaps the second world war would not have begun? Think it over. No, I am not mean, if you reply with that same idiom to my comment than you will be beyond hope in my eyes and I think It would be fair to say *as well as to ask of my peers* that you will begin to loose fans to your site here on deviantart.com thanks! Keep up the good work, inspire, don't denigrate.
Hey Man, I'm German and I love iPhone Games. But this icon has nothing to do with game in ANY way. I know that you will think it over and find something better to suit your game!
cool
